A. Locksmith - Morecambe
It's always nice to know a little bit about the Locksmith which will be attending your property and dealing with your home security. So below I have given a brief description to how A.Locksmith was started and why we are still trading as the No 1 Morecambe Locksmith.
A.Locksmith is a local, one man band business. David Brownthe owner of A.Locksmith, will also be the locksmith which attends your property.
I have always found locks fascinating and as many do, always wanted to learn how to pick locks. In 1995 I was lucky enough to be offered a job at a local Locksmith company in Morecambe ( AA Key & Safe ).
I was trained by the owner ( Big Dave ). We were very close and I never thought of him as a boss, more a very close friend.
On the 29th May 1999, we were asked to move a safe for Castle Gate Security Services, from there Whitelund office to a new shop on Euston Road. Sadly, this was the last job I ever did with Dave. Whilst moving the safe into the shop at Euston Road, Dave suffered a massive heart attack and passed away on site.
After this AA Key & Safe was being run by Mrs Ayres ( Daves Wife ). Things were obviously very hard at the time, and sadly it wasn't working out. We sat down and both decided it may be best if I was to become self employed and set up on my own. This was the beginning of A.Locksmith. It was December 1999, so it was going to be a new business for the millenium, very nearly called Millenium Locksmiths.
Like any new business it takes a while to get things going, fortunately I was still doing all the Locksmith work for AA Key & Safe. It was definately the correct decision as even today we still have a very good / strong working relationship.
It was in 2003 when A.Locksmith really started getting recognised locally and building a very good customer database.
In 2004, I invested heavily into Auto locksmithing and Car key programming which even today I am the only Locksmith locally offering a complete Auto Locksmith Service.
Over the years I have kept investing heavily in new equipment to be able to provide a second to none service throughout the Morecambe & Lancaster area's.
After 10 years of using a medium sized van. In 2010 I decided to buy a large van, which can be seen in the photo's. This is now turned into a mobile workshop where I am able to complete 99.9% of all types of work on site.
And I never stop investing, in 2012 I am hoping to be investing in yet another car key programming machine. At present I can supply & program approximately 80% of vehicle keys which are manufactured. Hopefully throughout 2012 I hope this figure will rise to 95% of all vehicles.
